Small Business Backup Solution?
Hi wise people, just need to collect a few ideas on something.
I have a business who I've set up a small network for. It's all best-effort and understood that my time's for free. Long-time friend of the chief there, so never any problems - in fact never anything but damn grateful I show up! :)
They have about four/five client PCs, NAS, switch, firewall/router and that's it. The chief's PETRIFIED of cloud backups, but I'm PETRIFIED any number of disasters could hose their ageing NAS and they'd lose all their files (it's backed up by drag-and-drop every so often.)
Just having SOMETHING by way of offsite backups would ease my mind a bit.
So, if cloud backup is out of the picture, I'm thinking BitTorrent Sync on a new NAS there, and a new NAS at %employee%'s house. That way if the premises falls into a bottomless sinkhole the data is still there on the second NAS.
Just wondered if there were any other methods anyone can think of. Or any glaring flaws in my plan.
Thanks for reading. :) Happy to hear any ideas tbh.
