Hi all,
One of the teachers here wants a video clip downloaded off t'interweb for use in an assembly, however the video clip is streamed using Realplayer and it doesnt save the video in Temporary Internet Settings, so we are unable to play it locally on the machine.

She needs is reasonably quickly as well, so any help/ideas would be appreciated.
Do you have permission to do this from the content owner?
Cam Studio, it takes a little messing with to make sure you are capturing the audio but works well enough. It captures any part of the screen to a avi file. Quality is good enough, especially when put through movie maker afterwards to shrink the file size a bit.

well, in resources packs to the teacher, they say you can use the clips in assemblies to the students, so surely we should be able to use them.Quote:

I use a brillient freeware program called orbit downloader. http://www.orbitdownloader.com/
It captures virtually all streaming meda invluding RM, WMV and Flash files with no problems.
Just realised, I captured the same video myself a few days ago for use in assemblies next week!

@maniac - thanks for the tip about Orbit - just installed it and it does what it says on the tin!
No problem, I think that bit of software deserves a place on the wiki, as it's a question that comes up fairly frequently, and Orbit really is the best piece of software I've ever come across for doing it!Quote:
