We have used Pugh but get a comparision quote from Ramsys....
We have used Pugh Computers for the last three years. They have been competitive for us on price and are very helpful with explaining some of the intricacies of the licensing, sending out media sets etc. Having said that we will probably opt into our local CLC's licensing scheme at the next renewal as they get better value with the larger volumes. (Several secondary schools in the scheme).
Might be worth checking if your LA has a VL scheme you could join in with -ours had one for years that would have saved us loads, they just never bothered telling us about it !
I took the decision to go with Probrand/IT Index due to price.
Good points
I saved a few hundred quid.
Bad points
They don't seem to know much about the licensing when I ask questions or they take days to answer. Not too bothered at present as I can't see us getting anything else at present but they did mess up a M$ quote a while back which cost me lots of man hours.
Pugh was more expensive and Ramesys didn't answer my emails or phone me back when I asked them to so they lost out.
Ramesys beat our LA on price. Pugh have been great in the past but are dearer than our LA.
ProBrand wanted us to jump through hoops plus didn't seem to know what they were on about, plus they were dearer than our LA.
I went to Insight. Ive got a license guy's number if anyone wants it. He gave us a new way of doing the licenses and made everything a hell of a lot cheaper. By about £2000.
I did quite a bit of hoop jumping to get it sorted, I will be changing as soon as I can as I've had enough of Probrand.
We stuck with TME ourselves for licensing, found their prices cheaper than anyone else we spoke to.
We bought Windows Server CALs at £1.06 each; Exchange CALs at £1.10 each; Office enterprise at £12.23 each, Server OS at £19.10 each; Exchange server at £26.32 each, SQL Server at £216.08 each; ISA at £48.85 each.
What numbers of each?
For a split second I thought you said TIME 8OQuote:
