    CMS - PHP problems

I get the following when trying to use the install script that came with the CMS.

    Connect to database host
    Select database
    Create tables

Warning: fopen(../inc/inc_config.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/install/install.php on line 358

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/install/install.php on line 359

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/install/install.php on line 360
    Create config file

Warning: require_once(../inc/inc_config.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/install/install.php on line 193

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '../inc/inc_config.php' (include_path='.:') in /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/install/install.php on line 193

    Any ideas?

Well the obvious one is permissions. Check your file permissions and/or your permissions on the database you are trying to use.

    Two possibilities..
    1. You are missing the file(s)
    2. You don't have permission to access them... 644 is standard.. It's possible you uploaded and extracted the files using a different user (eg: root) so a chown correctowner:correctgroup ./* -R may be in order

Worth checking that you have file inc_confi.php in:
    /usr/export/home/ntstaff/pspec/www/inc/

    Re: CMS - PHP problems

I wouldn't mind but the file inc_config.php isn't there it's called inc_config.php.off which I expect it to copy over with the new info but sadly it doesn't!

I've given full permissions to world so there shouldn't be an issue?

Rename inc_config.php.off to inc_config.php. See if that makes a difference.

renaming will error, carry on with the install, then at the end it will give you the correct details, copy them , then paste them in this file, it will work fine then.

    Re: CMS - PHP problems

I've managed to sort it with help from a company I know. For some reason the code that causes this error uses a varible called BASEDIR which is defined elsewhere and the bit that tells it what value to have was commented out.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions.
