Need to get up to speed with CMIS
I'm looking for some help please. Ive recently joined a school that uses CMIS but at the moment no one has the skills to use it for complex reports. Does anyone have a report that their school uses for monitoring teachers/teaching groups value added score?

You may be able to get SERCO to write the reports for you. They told us they would do it for us when they put our system in. We haven't got to the stage where we are ready to do this yet at our school, so I can't vouch for the truth of this claim made by them [SERCO]

Re: Need to get up to speed with CMIS
There are plenty of independent consultants who will charge far less than serco for consultancy / report writing... maybe worth asking your LA for assistance or training as several now offer CMIS courses etc

I got the impression that SERCO would not charge for these reports. We have not tested this assertion yet, as I said in my other posting. Could be worth a try?

Re: Need to get up to speed with CMIS
It will probably depend upon how specific the reports are ... if you are using the 'default' KS3 models or similar then the reports will already exist...

Re: Need to get up to speed with CMIS
Yeah, ive been quoted by serco 800 pound a day to make the reports for us, but it doesnt help me to learn how to do it.
How do it get hold of the reports that have already been created?

You will need to check what Result Entry Control tempates have been setup for teachers to enter progress marks, effort etc.
Those templates will point you to the Exams/assessments that have been setup for use in the school, which in turn are what the reports need to look at to get the data out.
If the above two paragraphs make no sense to you, then I suggest you phone the Serco helpdesk and explain that you have recently taken over running Facility. They should be able to confirm what has been setup for you.
If you need further help then let me know.

30th January 2008, 11:06 AM #9 If your LA supported - ask them for the serco manuals.
If your not supported by the LA, Ask your Serco "Relationship Manager" for a login to this site: http://home.teknical.com/LearningSys...tution=sercotpwhich should have alll the manuals etc that you will require..
This also includes the training database, so you can follow the courses through on your own too.
