Request support with remote assistance.
Hi,
I am looking for something preferably free that allows a user to click a button and it notifies us in the network room they are asking for help. We can click on the request and it can open a remote session.
There are things that do this, but the ones I have managed to find cost to much.
Regards,Glenn

We've been looking at Openfire as a Jabber server and with the Fastpath client for helpdesk. This isn't free (and I can't make sense of the pricing!) but it's quite good.
Given that Openfire is open source, I wouldn't be suprised to find an open source equivalent for the client (spark works fine but it needs the caller to choose who to talk to etc; fastpath just allows help desk staff to logon and then magically the client finds the first available person)

Why not use windows remote assistance?
We do here and it works a treat. GPO and control who can control etc and what you can do (based on groups/usernames).
We dont send invites (although it can) but if staff need help we type in there machine and they get a connect request. If they accept we see there screen. If we want we can request full control but the teacher has the choice.
