What printer do you guys use for your cheque printing, Laser or Dot Matrix?
Im not sure if there any official rules or regs with this and someone at our school says we are not allowed to use a laser printer for the printing of cheques.
Thanks

1 of my old schools, was using a HP laser print to print cheques (I'm fairly sure they still do). I have never heard of any reason not to use a laser printer. Has that person given you a reason why you can't use a laser printer?
Steve

we use laser printers for our cheques too. As for dot matrix, a bit ancient eh? Why use carbon paper when you can scan/copy?
We went into this subject a couple of years ago and the end result was the purchase of a Brother laser to do the cheque printing. There was a specification for this but I cant remember where I got it from ... The brother complies with the rules for cheque printing though .. I'll be at the school tommorrow .. PM me if you want me to send you the printer type .. it wasnt expensive ....
A guide for this is here - http://www.chequeandcredit.co.uk/fil...ny_cheques.pdf
Some laser printers really aren't suitable for this as the print they produce can easily be altered.
