    Deploying Flash Player 9

I need to put Flash Player 9 on around 50 clients. These clients as far as i know have version 8 on and i think this was part of the Macromedia suite (but not 200% sure)

I have donloaded the corporate msi player 9 does any one know of any issues deploying this through GPO and over installing on top of or along side of player 8?

    Has anyone done this?

You might want to read the notes on AppDeploy.com

    Re: Deploying Flash Player 9

    Hi,

Yep, there was an issue when Adobe included a custom action in their installer to tell you that Flash Player had uninstalled successfully. They didn't condition the action appropriately, so silent uninstalls would hang with the message waiting to be accepted, but it was hidden. The affected version was 8.0.24. I believe they later revised the installer for this version to correct it though. Does this sound like your symptoms?

You'd hope that their flash 9 installer would contain logic to address this though. I never deployed 8.0.24 (and stayed with 8.0.22), so can't say for sure.

Btw, v8 is included in the suite, but it's not mandatory and you do have the version not to install it.

I need to put v9 on to all the laptops because of some software that they need to use now needs v9.
