How do you control your 'waste paper'?
I have just worked out that per fortnight, we waste approximately 17500 sheets in unclaimed printouts! Thats 173cm's in height. That's 7 boxes each containing 5 reams!
One of the main culprits - the 'user seperator' page that the NM insists on. I am working on scrapping that idea via the upper echelons.
What do you guys use to monitor paper usage? When I was at school, we had a card/account number system. The problem here is it's a fee paying school so we can't charge without causing uproar. But maybe stark statistics and the fact we are known to be proactively monitoring usage will stop some of the wastage...?

Printer accounting here (PyKota/CUPs) works on a per page system.

Ric posted a howto PDF in the *nix forum. It's a sticky post.

We used to have PCounter - hated it
Now got Papercut - very easy and very effective. Politics are stopping us implementing it fully though
- apparantly teachers have a devine right to waste as much paper as they want

Covered lots of times this topic.
We use Papercut also. Been very pleased with it for the last two years, much prefer it to Print Manager Plus we used before it. The only niggle we've got with it is we can't say, allocate £3 of funds that only get taken when printing to the printer in Art and any other printer takes it from the general £10 pot.
As for recycling paper, ont of the Ass. Heads deals with that, each room having a box that is collected when it's full.
