Is the indexing service running on the server?

Yes the violations are recorded at the ISA Server. But this is not the issue. I am looking to enable Windows searching generally, not on this issue only. To be able to search the Policy Master Violations folders is just the trigger. The Policy Master application is not a particularly sophisticated pacakge: These folders, although they are held on the server, are the same as any 'standard' folders in Windows.Originally Posted by Geoff

I have it now. As well as the first setting in Active Directory:
Staff/User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Explorer: Remove Search button from Windows Explorer: Now set to Disabled.
I also set the following:
Staff/User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Start Menu and Taskbar: Remove Search from Start Menu: Now set to Disabled.
Staff can now search the folders as desired.
