Trying to deploy some more Open Source software and the one thing that crops up is the varied way file management/dialogue boxes are handled. I've found many that open up drives set to hidden, the biggest being the C drive which is hidden from users everywhere else.

Is this something others just accept and deploy any way, reject the software or use work a-rounds?
