Logos - Tidying them up

I've seen a few 'brilliant' logo transformations on here, I think mainly (if not all) by SYSMAN.

Does anyone have a rough guide as to how to do this?

Depends on the logo. Some are done in photoshop, either redrawn or complied with tweaked clipart, shapes. Others are redrawn in Illustrator from scratch. Some are alot easier to complete than others.

I thought so but I'd just like a rough idea on how to get started. Will have a play tomorrow!
