Google Apps for Education - Single Sign-On

We're about to implement Google Apps for Education, so I was wondering how you guys had configured the single sign-on for it. I'd be grateful for any advice you can give on this.

yes. we used a moodle plugin and authenticate from Active Directory
    http://development.moodlerooms.com/c...view.php?id=30
Downloads - moodle-google - Project Hosting on Google Code

there are stacks of other ways of doing it, by hosting a server to authenticate
    Google Apps - Google Code
    Google Apps - Google Code

I did look at this before we decided on moodle:
simplesamlphp - Project Hosting on Google Code

    some other free ideas here:

Open Source Projects - Google Apps APIs - Google Code

or buy something on the marketplace

Google Apps Directory Sync just copies user information, no passwords; we would need one of the SSO services to get password synchronisation. Correct? Has anyone tried any of the ones listed on Open Source Projects - Google Apps APIs - Google Code What would we need at this end in order to use them?

    a web server.

currently we use moodle/google integration but it's broken with moodle 2.0.

No moodle here. Indeed, no web server of any flavour unless I can get something on our FRDC (currently accessible via EasyLink but no public-facing web server)...

Just been reading, not tried it, but GADS will now sync passwords, but only in sha1/md5 format, which AD doesn't do, however: sha1hexfltr - Project Hosting on Google Code makes it do it. See Active Directory password sync finally working!!! - Google Apps Help
