Bypass HP expiry dates?

Got a Business Inkjet 2800 and installed brand new printheads, bought 2 years ago. Oh dear - they're "expired"! Now I know this is old news about HP ripping us off however I bought a job lot of these 2 years ago and can't afford to bin them because the "date" is too old. You can sort of understand that ink cartridges aren't as good as first new (still no excuse for expiry though) but printheads? Surely they should be fine..

I need to know how to take the battery out in this type of printer so bypass this expiry (as suggested in many places on the web). Anyone been inside one and could advise where we need to be looking?

We have the same printer and have the same thing. Did you find a solution please?

Unfortunately, printer still sitting in the back room waiting for us to either buy new printheads or find that darned battery(!)
