we're planning to show the lecture on Star Lectures (The University of Manchester) which is due to start in 7 minutes... but all we're seeing is the intro page and no player or anything - is that what's supposed to be happening??![]()

Ok, We've got the player ok, but it's unable to find the stream. Getting the error:
Server not found:
rtmp://flash.livestream.manchester.ac.uk
We're on CLEO with no internal proxies set, which is as direct an internet connection as we can get. Any ideas?
I've emailled the uni but you guys are normally quicker than any support desk!
rtmp requires port 1935. Doesn't work for me either. same problem.
BatchFile (28th June 2010)
Had similar with the Beeb recently - needed the very latest Flash Player installed - might be that
tried thatwe're on 10.1.whatever which still didn't help
Well, that was a waste of time, we've sent the kids back to class. If they'd only give you a test stream, not just a player that appears literally 90s before it starts, I'd have identified the problem and either got it sorted or cancelled the viewing yesterday

We've had exactly the same thing, no chance of us resolving any possible problems with it as they didn't give us a test stream. Very poor planning imho.
Didn't work for us either. If they had bothered to put a test stream up in advance we could have tested it and got the required ports open instead of wasting a lesson of teaching time :@

Glad I put this on here now. I think I'll direct their "support" email to this thread.... and at least I can show the Head of Science that it wasn't a problem at our end! (not that he'd be bothered, just good for my self asteem)
