Maintenance Management Software?

Our school board has requested that our Maintenance Department implement software so they can generate reports and keep track of where the money goes etc etc... I was wondering if any of you have software in place such as this and can suggest something before I make a blind purchase.

We use webhelpdesk for our service desk - it has some accounting options in there.
