Computer for my nephew
He was three years old in September. I have a ten year old laptop which I want to set up for him, but I'd like ideas and advice on which way to go.
Do I go down the Linux route, and used a custom-tailored distro, or is there an overlay for Windows that works well? Ideas for software are also welcome - TuxPaint is a must etc.

Qimo 4 Kids | Software For Kids
Qimo is a desktop operating system designed for kids. Based on the open source Ubuntu Linux desktop, Qimo comes pre-installed with educational games for children aged 3 and up.
Qimo's interface has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use, providing large icons for all installed games, so that even the youngest users have no trouble selecting the activity they want.

Cheers for that! I'll play about with it in Virtualbox for a bit.
