Is there a way of enabling Yahoo Safesearch across a LAN?
Had some interesting search results thrown up by a member of staff - safesearch removed them, but dont fancy going round 300+ clients
GPO? Script?

how are you enabling or disabling safe search in the first place ?
Is this one of those web browser add ons or what exactly ?
I think its just an option on the website same as google. in which case, could you not set the option, which will create a cookie, and then copy that cookie to the student's default profile's temp internet settings dir?
I force Yahoo searches via Yahooligans on my Squid Proxy here (I use squidguard for url rewriting).
Likewise I rewrite Google searches/image searches using strict filtering.Code:rewrite yahoo_search { s@http://search.yahoo.com/search?@ht...gans.yahoo.com/search/index?@ir s@http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?...gans.yahoo.com/search/index?@ir }
Code:rewrite google_safesearch { s@http://www.google.com/search?@http://www.google.com/search?safe=on&@ir s@http://www.google.co.uk/search?@ht...w.google.co.uk/search?safe=on@ir } rewrite google_imagesearch { s@http://www.google.com/images?@http://www.google.com/images?safe=on&@ir s@http://www.google.co.uk/images?@ht...w.google.co.uk/images?safe=on&@ir }

Similarly, the SmoothWall "guardian" products have checkboxes which do almost exactly what Geoff's examples do.
Should probably tempt him away and hire him as a dev![]()

The Register reports Warning: do not search Yahoo! for 'franchise'. :shock:
Amusingly, when using my redirection to Yahooligans the only result I get is 'Free Willy 3: The Rescue'.![]()
