I'm looking for an app that will visually tell me what key or combination of keys I am pressing on a keyboard to aid in troubleshooting dodgy keys.
I've done some googling but haven't come up with anything good, anybody have a app like this?

Start-All Programs-Accessories-Accessibility-On screen keyboard

Thats for clicking on and using instead of typing as far as I can see doesn't appear to help provide me any diagnostic information.

Keytweak might do what you're after (not it's main purpose, but IIRC it does show which keys and scan codes you're triggering).

Thats a bit more like what I'm after that could well do it.
All I really want is a picture of a keyboard that highlights each key or combination as you press it.

I usually find notepad works
The onscreen keyboard should light up the keys as you press them on the keyboard (even though its main purpose is to be clicked upon).

Onscreen keyboard doesn't light up as I type at work or at home I want to test things like fn + f key combinations so notepad is no good.

ah, looks like there two different versions of the on screen keyboard. The one i was using was on a tablet pc and that will show keys as you hit them.
Is there some delux version of Notepad I didn't know about.
I use metapad here.Originally Posted by NetworkGeezer

Remove keyboard and wash it then allow to dry before reffiting?
Or make the nqt lick it off?

hmm...there's a mini webcam above the screen. No, no, there's no way she'd fall for that.
