    SharePoint Server 2007 - Helpdesk

    I have installed the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Application Template: Help Desk on my SharePoint server 2007. Is there anyway i can create a field on the form which shows a Ticket ID, which increments everytime a new ticket is generated.

    You can't add a new unique auto-generated ID to a SharePoint list, which is basically how the helpdesk template works. If you edit the "All Items" view you will see a list of columns that do not have the display option checked.

    Most of the lists, if not all already have an ID assigned to them if you put a tick in the box called "ID" it will the show the field which will have an ID in it that you should be able to use.
