I am looking for a utility / method for creating a splash screen (image file) that ideally can be compiled into a executable (so can be called from a script etc)
I came across a piece of software call Autorun Action Splash, despite being designed to create an autorun splash screen for CD-ROMS, that 'nearly' did the job. Allowed me to add image, choose location, duration etc and compiled into a self contained .exe file.
The 2 problems is that it wasn't free and it had to run an executable after the splash screen which i don't require.
The other alternative would be to fire up IE and load a webpage (hosted on intranet) with the image / details i want to show... but this is long winded and user could just close IE down prior to showing image.
Bottom line, does such a (free) piece of software exist that can create a splash screen. i dont need to it do anything else except stay on for a specified duration and ideally be self contained executable?

14th January 2010, 04:41 PM #3 Do you have any experience in C#.net or VB.net? It'd be a 5 minute job to make what you want with one of those, and you can get free compilers here
Alternatively, let me know your specs and send me the image via email (PM me and I'll send you my email address) and I'll make one for you.
