Hello,
I followed a thread on creating google earth deployment msi from group policy server 2003.
Seems i STILL cant get this to deploy properly.
Can anyone help please?
I get error:
Event ID 108
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. Software changes could not be applied. A previous log entry with details should exist. The error was The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
Seems to point towards permissions, but it all seems ok and am thinking its the google msi... but am guessing really.
My permissions are Domain Users read.... tried R/W too.
Other msi's have installed thats why am not convinced its permissions.
Thanks

13th January 2010, 04:17 PM #3 Thanks for that.
Seems I tried the package and had the same problems.
I then had to try msiexec /a from the client rather than server and used mapped drive rather than UNC and it all worked.
Seems my problem was that I am not very familiar with setting deployed packages up using msiexec.
Thanks again.
