This is more of how would you do it.
I was asked if it was possible to live stream the christmas panto this year to all the classes in school so that the kids can watch it.
I haven't a clue where to start, is it more hassle than its worth? The panto is next thursday 17th.

11th December 2009, 09:43 AM #4 Just an idea,
If you have any IP webcams or cameras lying around you could set one up in your Hall, or where the panto is taking place, give it an IP address on your network then make that address available for staff so they just plumb it into a browser and display the feed through the projector for the kids to watch.
Granted it could mean making up some long cable and could be rather awkward, and the image quality won't be great, but it's the first idea off of the top of my head.

14th December 2009, 12:13 PM #6 I used to do this for PPE (Halls was to small to fit in all the parents)
Windows Media Encoder (free) and a cheap USB camera connected to a laptop, get that to stream to a server and from there you can distrubute a link for the feed (MMS://server: port).
You also have the advantage of recording it as well.
