Why not just use NSS onto the NAS? Quotas for free?
I'm currently looking at virtualising my servers using VSphere and I've got two Novell Netware boxes that are currently doing file serving that can't be virtualised (thank god!) so I'm thinking about moving the data over to a CIFS NAS share on a Netapp FAS2020.
NTP Software's QFS has been recommended to me as a good product for storage quotas - I'm just wondering if anyone has used it?
Cheers,
Ant

What's NSS? Northern Storage Suite?
Surely that's not a freebie these days!?
NSS being Netware's latest (well it was when I last used it) and greatest file system, I think.
Ah... I'm really trying to kill off novell...
I think £3k to see the back of it is a small price to pay!
If you haven't purchased the NetApp box already, have a look at the Sun S7000 storage. Few threads on here about them, stunning product.
No - haven't purchase yet.
I do keep reading good things about the Sun boxes... any good recommendations for suppliers?
For edu purchases, speak to Andy Trevor @ The Cutter Project, Linescanner on here.
Phil Lawrence, the Sun Open Storage Specialist is also on here as HebdenLad.
Cheers - I'll have a chat with Andy.
