Depends on the DVD, really. If it is the latest High School Musical film, then no; if it is a recording of a school play or concert, then yes.

As I thought. Although, I think I read somewhere that you're not allowed to film school productions of things like Grease etc.

Depends on the specific terms under which the material for the production is made available. We did something recently which came with very clear instructions that we were not to film or photograph the performance, even with the threat that they would come and check up on us! Other productions are less particular, I think.
If it was classical music, however, or a music or drama performance of the students' own making, it would be fine though.

when you go back to the mai window you shouls ee the record button appear.
play the dvd and then just press record when you get to the bit you want to record.

Ok, so where does it save the stuff that you've recorded? I can't seem to find where to tell it to save.

13th January 2010, 01:12 PM #27 That VLC tip, if it works, will save so much time. Thanks!
In the past, when someone has wanted a clip, Ive ripped the DVD, converted the whole thing to an xvid file with AutoGK and then either converted to WMV and cut with Prism, or used something else to cut the avi direct. Either way, it took ages

Dvddecrytper and imgburn are by the same author and that's pretty much where the similarities end. There is no decrypt function.

DVD Decrypter to extract the DVD to VOBs
AutoGK to XVID the VOBs into an AVI

14th January 2010, 09:35 AM #30 DVD Decrypter or Handbrake
Any Video Converter
DivX converter
If you want to put clips from DVD's into something like Premiere then I would rip it out and then convert it to something like an AVI in any vid converter then import to Premiere.
I've noticed Premiere can be a bit funny on the video formats it accepts.......
