    Question School Radio

More of a do you do it than a how do you do it...

But do any of you run your own radio stations? If so, did you use this company (http://www.schoolradio.co.uk/)?

Any ideas at cost or other solutions appreciated!

    Dom

Your first decision is what you really want to do and how you define "school radio station" - you can go from a glorified podcast repository to a fully kitted out studio doing live broadcasts either via streaming or hard wired speakers strategically placed around the building.

We started a school media team a which included the creation of a radio station (mainly podcasts) and video footage to go on the plasma screens around the school. The students really enjoyed it at first and it last a year or so before the students left school or moved into exam year groups and the group folded.

A lot of staff time will be needed to boss it as well as checking all content is appropriate before it goes 'live'.

Similar here - the member of staff who wanted to play with it all left - and it all folded - waste of money & time.
