    Cannot Delete Corrupt Printer Port

We have a workstation which is giving me major headaches. There is a printer port which is corrupt and which I cannot delete [See attached picture]

    Has anyone esle seen this?

Has anyone else been able to cure it?

It is a problem for me because I cannot add a USB printer which is needed locally in the office where the workstation is located.

Client OS: Windows XP Pro: SP3.

    Thanks.

not sure if this will help

FYI you can remove an obsolete/invalid printer port by deleting the appropriate registry key under

    Code:
     HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors\Standard TCP/IP Port\Ports\
Obviously make sure you have relevant rights / permissions to the above reg key ( not sure if the above key lists local ports or just tcp/ip ones ?

Just had a look and there seems to be another part in the same area for local ports etc so just have a rummage around in there
