Went the same way as you with the the Canon's but had the problem of the poor sound quality and now looking at getting more Flip cameras as they are better. We dont use the software that comes with the Flips just use them like external device and copy the files acreoss when needed.

what do you use to edit the mp4 video files? (assuming they output in mp4)

10th February 2010, 01:36 PM #18 I have just knocked up a simple guide for our students to use WinFF which uses ffmpeg to convert video from the Flip cameras to a wmv which can then be imported into MovieMaker.
I had the codec installed and it still wouldn't load in the native mp4 format.
The only caveat I found is that it doesn't like to save to the students home folder when doing the conversion so we save it to a temporary folder on the flip cam itself and then copy the resulting wmv to their home folder.
