Sohos Anti-Virus Infection Detected Message Box

We use Sophos Anti-Virus to protect our workstations. When a suspicious file is detected Sophos puts up a message box describing the nature of the threat and any action already taken:

This messaging works for Staff but not for Students [Student desktops are pretty tightly locked down]

My question is what is it that I need to allow in Group Policy to let the messages to Students from Sophos to appear? [they can currently claim that they are not aware of any threat to the network that their memory sticks represent]

    Any ideas anyone?

Do you hide the notification area? No icons near the clock, bottom right.

That's right: Nothing in the notification area except for the clock.

    That might be why

User Config > Admin Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar -

Hide the notification area - Disabled/Not Configured

  5. Thanks to Michael from:

Thanks. That cracked it. Had forgotten that had been set.
