Fax Machine or Fax Server Software?
Once again our fax machine is broken.... I think they are getting a bit archaic. I wanted to use a software based system like winfax (i havve used it elsewere). Can any one recomend a bit of software that can do Fax to Email (only needs one account) so we can receive faxes? opensource would de ideal but i am willing to pay.....
It would also save a lot of paper.

we use a fax module on the copier method works well.
Alll in comming faxes are turned into emails and forwarded to receptionist who in turn forward them to the correct people and deletes the rubbish.
to send a fax you can either go to the copier and do it there or every desktop has the fax printer driver installed . So you can sent anything on your pc to fax or scan paper to email ( from any scanner or copier in school)
saves all the hassle
We did have a situation were we needed a private fax number , and our ISP offers a free fax to email service with an 0845 number , we set phone system up with a new number and it forwarded all calls to 0845 number so people still think they are sending direct to school

10th October 2009, 07:33 AM #7 Fax Forwarding is the name but basically as far as I am aware you have to have scan to email setup in the first instance and then configure fax forwarding which will then use the scan to email functionality to forward the fax as an email.

we use a sharp copier ( MX2300n) it is set to forward all incomming faxes to an email box called fax@.......sch.uk this read by receptionist and forwared as emails to correct destination.
The machine does it all we dont do anything.
would not be with out it now.
