    Netbook processer speeds

We're looking at getting a few netbooks and I see they have low powered processers in them like 1.3GHz - 1.6GHz and 1Gb ram. Are these speeds fast enough for modern day use as I wouldn’t normally buy a notebook with such a slow processer?

depends on what you want to use them for, the processOrs are beefy enough for office/email/intwebby stuff, just dont expect to be running games or encoding videos on them...
