FIXED Work around. Spark & Redirect desktop folder

Hi all I've been working a work around to get Spark running while having redirect desktop folder.
I've only tested on windows server 2003 and windows XP! might work to newer OS.

Problem is that Spark Instant Messenger does not work when you have Desktop redirection.
    to cheat around this:

    1:
First of all create a Mandatory profile connect all your staff to it. (link provided on how to make one) creating-small-mandatory-profile.html

2: In the mandatory folder, there is an empty desktop folder, copy and paste all the icons from the icons located in the desktop redirection folder to the empty desktop folder in the mandatory profile.

3 Disable desktop redirection on the GPO. Leave the Start menu alone as this still works.

    4. get a member of staff to log out and in again, this time the desktop Icons are pulled from the mandatory profile and not the desktop redirect. so you still have control of what Icons staff are using.

And now all your staff can use Spark!

Cant you just recompile spark with a couple of java changes as to where it saves data?
To get started download the source, Java SDK and Eclipse (Java edition) which are all free and have a play
I make a custom build of openfire for edugeek chat currently using those tools.

...and then make your patch fairly generic and send it upstream, where everybody can benifit
