Room Booking Software, Install on Remote Office Server

    Hello All,

I need a piece of room booking software which is PHP Based and can ben fully installed, and ran on, an external websever.

MRBS and Webmans CRBS are good but you have to be able to install the database tables on the local machine, i cannot do this as our web server is totally off site.

Something that runs an Install Similar to our Joomla Instalation on that server, I do have all the MySQL password details but cannot/do not know how to run a script to create a database and install tables on that remote server.

*PLUG WARNING* I did use the Edugeek Joomla package to create our school website on this server, accessible at Northfleet Technology College homepage

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Garry

How was Joomla installed in the first place? Do you have access to some form of web-based control panel such as cPanel or Plesk?

You must have access to some sort of control panel, unless your external host is someone dodgy...

p.s phpMyAdmin - should surely be installed on a external web host (It is a standard bit of kit)

    yep, use Webman's CRBS

I had one minor issue with it - probably my fault - but Craig gave me a solution within the hour. Not bad seeing as its free and Craig is only working on this in his spare time.

Showed it to my SLT and they were happy with it too

My trouble is that I am working with a server which was signed up to years before i joined, as our LEA doesn't support MSQL Databases.

When I installed Joomla, all i did was copy up the files and run the webpage based setup wizard,

I will investigate into my server a bit more, we will probably go with MBRS if i do get it working, as we want to book our facilities at different, bespoke, times, so the lovely lesson format is not suitable for us, but the product itself looks very nice
