    Exchange 2007 windows mobile over wifi

    I can get push emails over my T-mobile data conection no problem but would like to use school wifi to do the same if possible but cant make it work


    Does anyone know if or how its done??

    You can do this in windows mobile 6 or above as it will just use the active connection however you will burn through your battery in about an hour having wifi on all the time which is a requirement.

    battery

    My phone lasts all day with wifi on no problem

    but i cant get the email to connect when its on the wlan.

    can do everything else like browse internet no problem

    Can you get to the SSL Activesync portal from inside the network though, unless it has been setup correctly you may have difficulty using the external address, you may need to point it directly at the internal DNS name of the exchange server without SSL or make an internal DNS entry that matches the external one and points to teh internal ip.

    Most devices also turn off the wifi when the screen sleeps which could account for the long battery life. If this happens it will use GPRS instead to re-establish communication as this can be left running with much less battery hit.
