mail for exchange problem
Hi All
Not sure which is the correct section for this.
I have a Nokia E51 on 3 and mail for exchange works fine.
If I put the same settings in a colleagues Nokia E71 on Vodaphone, mail for exchange doesn't connect and just shows the System Error, please try again’ error.
What could be wrong?
Thanks

If it just says "System Error" then download the latest version - it is MUCH better and solved 90% of my connection problems. I have an E71 on 3 and use it to connect to my mail server. Occasionally it would drop a connection but since upgrading to the new version I haven't had a problem.
If you search the Nokia discussion forums you will find a link somewhere to download the new version -although it can be a pita looking for it.

had MFE working on many e71.
Only thing to look out for was the lock down time out you cant change it without a reset of the phone
so make sure its set to something that wont make users unhappy

Anyway, you can change the lock out time and policy without a complete reset of the phone. I have done it several times, it's in the security options part of the settings of the phone.
Did you ever have any luck getting MfE working? Would be interested to know if updating to the newer version did in fact cure your issues.

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
3 different E71's have been tried running the lastest version of MFE. They all show this error in the error log:-
22/05/2009 6:12:53 OffPeakTime active
22/05/2009 6:12:53 Setting OFFLINE Status to False
22/05/2009 6:12:53 Setting DISK FULL status to False
22/05/2009 6:13:07 Profile Updated
22/05/2009 6:13:08 OffPeakTime active
22/05/2009 6:13:16 Missing Protocol Version Header. Reverting to EAS 2.0
22/05/2009 6:13:18 Unable to Process Server Response -- KErrCorrupt
Are there any settings on SBS that could cause this?

26th May 2009, 10:19 PM #7 Am I right in saying 3 have their own slimlined version of OWA? Maybe that's why - and the vodafone Nokia doesnt?. Have you got SSL open on your exchange box??!?! (port 443?)
I don't have much knowledge of using smartphones like that (only my iPhone) so I may be wrong!
