    Speed up Acrobate Reader loading

    Not sure if anyone else has seen this but found a little tool to speed up acrobat reader:

    I've tried it and it seems to work not sure what it does when it does its stuff but maybe someone could disect it with filemon etc... so that a network rollable solution could be made.

    Can't quite beleve the difference. No more freezing IE when opening PDFs

    I use FoxIT PDF reader - been meaning to implement it at the school
    its a freebie and a hell of a lot quicker than Acrobat (1-2 secs compaired to 1-2 mins!!)

    Use FoxIT at home when on Windows, very quick indeed.

    yea great fine..... cant believe how much it actually speeds it up, i think i will roll this out over the sumer holidays for sure!

    try xpdf, gpdf or kpdf, all are faster than acrobat reader, although they lack some of the more advanced features and the interfaces arent as nice, but still, much faster.

    Are you using Acrobat Reader 7? Version six was really slow but 7 has worked quick as lightning for us.

    I also use fox it and have deployed it, well a short cut to it, as its so small I run its exe from a server so its one click update

    Version 7 has always been fine for me also both at home and at school. Version 6 and under was always a nightmare.
