What applications are out there like Hyper Terminal that is free?

What do you use for configuring network hardware?

Hyper terminal doesn't come with Server 2003, 2008 or Vista

Hyper terminal doesn't come with Server 2003, 2008 or Vista

It does come with 2003, it is an optional Windows component that you need to install in Add/Remove programs, its under Accessories and Utilities : Communication. It may well be in the others to but I am not on a vista machine at the moment so can't check.

No, it doesn't come in Vista or higher, but you can use the XP version as long as you copy hypertrm.dll and hypertrm.exe across.
