    Run a recovery CD

See I had a brain wave very simple really. I don't have the correct driver package for the IBM T60 laptops (another thread regarding that has been and gone) so when I got a laptop returned from the manufacturer with a brand new image with all little bits and bobs on it i was delighted and made rescue recovery CD.
I then tested to see if the recovery CD worked on other laptops, it doesn't but I guessed it wouldn't must compare serial numbers or something.

Any way back story over. After a bit of tinkering i managed to kill the OS on the laptop which came with the factory image, so i have tried running the recovery disc (that has been made with the software provided by Lenovo,) and it doesn't work.
It seems to get most of the way threw the last CD before saying that there isn't enough space on the system.
I have fully formatted the drive to same results
It looks like it is copying the data to a second partition then converting the info back on to the original partition and as the hard drive doesn't have enough space for 2 copies of the data its stopping the restore. is there any way of getting round this? Or is there another reason that it isn't working? I'm stumped!

Could you attach an external USB drive and convince your imaging software to store the intermittent copy on that instead?
