Audacity would probably do the job...

Can you not get the radio edit which will already have any swearing removed?

Maybe its not but i doubt very much a school is going to get done for it. DJs have been editting music for the last 25+ years and i havnt ever heard of one getting done for it.

Radio and TV stations edit tracks all the time to remove swear words, all you're doing is bleeping the word out, it isn't like you're sampling it and re-using it in a piece of your own material.

No they don't, the record company supplies a radio edit

Sounds to me like he doesn't want to remove the word (or bleep it) but more to take the word out the song and use it elsewhere.

The rest of the song and it's tone are OK, but "bitch" isn't .

I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator
I'm the fear addicted, a danger illustrated

    I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
    You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter
    I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter

I'm the bitch you hated, filth infatuated - yeeeaaaah
I'm the pain you tasted, well intoxicated

    I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
    You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter

I'm the self inflicted, mind detonator - yeah
I'm the one infected, twisted animator

    I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
    You're the firestarter, twisted firestarter
    I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter
Mind you, I'm always surprised that primary kids are encouraged to sing along with 'Grease' (the moral of which seems to be "slut yourself up to get your man").

The way we do it open the mp3 with Audacity, click and drag to highlight the offensive word, then Effects > Reverse. That way you can't make out the rude word, but you don't lose the pitch or beat of the song.

    Peace

Not sure that makes it right. "Yes, it's illegal, but as long as you don't get caught it's OK".

As a professional board, not sure we should be encouraging that sort of behaviour.

I agree 100%. Is it definitely illegal though?
