we use use login @schoolname.co.uk (our website is www .schoolname.co.uk)
The logon is yyforename: e.g.07jane where the number is the year they start in reception... in the class with 3 girls called alicia in it, they are yyaliciaS where S is the first letter of their surname.
Staff use first initial and surname for easy identification; e.g. jsmith

What about Alicia Smith, Alicia Sanderson and Alicia Summers?
@beeswax I know where you're coming from and finding out a school's address is easy; but you don't immediately know form our domain that we are a school. Which is both good and bad in different ways.

Fortunately that hasn't happened... like I said; small school - it's more likely to happen with bigger classes.

23rd October 2008, 03:56 PM #20 For the pupils its FLLddmm F-first initial LL-first 2 letters of family name dd-day of birth mm-month of birth (for John Smith born 17th Feb = JSM1702), AD logon however is year starting followed by full name (eg 7JohnSmith). Staff is purely first initial followed by family name (FBloggs).
Domain is school.lea.sch.uk.

Not forgetting Alicia Silverstone
Just about to setup all pupils with yr08xxx@schoolname.county.sch.uk with yr08 being the year of entry. Agree it's right pain in the backside when giving my e-mail address to companies, especially if the person's first language isn't English.....
Don't know why we use yrxxxxx It's just been the way it's historically done here!

Arron Seabury or Shirley Itnyre would have interesting email addresses
(Both actual surnames according to surnames.co.uk)
