We use lasertech for recycling of general hp/brother etc cartridges, however they wont take the big KM cartridges (from printers such as the 5430 and 5450).
I see these can be "shipped" back to Konica individually, but as we have so many, it wouldn't be best use of time to do this. Does someone know of a compnay who will accept these (rather than us having to go around them all asking)?

8th October 2008, 01:44 PM #3 If you're not actually looking to earn money from them, take them to your nearest Help the Aged shop who will accept them gratefully, no matter what type they are.
All out toners and cartridges go there... as I haven't found anyone else who accepts the majority of them

17th October 2008, 12:39 PM #4 Thanks for the responses, but due to the quantity we have kept hold of, I think a collection is desirable. It seems every company I call don't wish to accept them, so giving them to HTA may be the only feasible option.
As it's been a while since this thread was updated, I was just wondering for anyone who may have missed it the first time, whether they're aware themself of anyone who collects these toner cartridges?

17th October 2008, 08:09 PM #5 My Lasertech bloke takes any toner cartridge I give him, but I do tend to stick them all into monitor / printer boxes, and then let him sort out the costs later. But it's a franchise, so they can be very different in different areas, and it's a different person in Liverpool from Wirral.
Where do you get the cartridges from ? As they might take them back.

24th October 2008, 09:32 AM #7 These konicas are now being remanafactured so you should be able to get someone to take them.
I'll ask Simon at CP who supplies the remans and if they might want them.

15th November 2008, 06:00 PM #8 Did you find out anything plexer for possible remans on these? If we can give them somewhere who will actually reuse them rather than disposing, then obviously that would be better, plus getting to reuse them ourself at a much cheaper price!
I think the colours for the 5430 are now at £105 each for just 6k yield after the recent 15% price hike!
Failing that, 25p each mounters sounds better than nowt

I was using Recycool Recycool - Recycling mobile phones and printer cartridges with schools for cash
Give them a call and check if they will take those toners

15th November 2008, 10:03 PM #10 I called them some weeks back - they wont accept them. I only found 1 company who will accept them, and they operate on a timetable as to when they are in the area. Still, rather hold boxes of these for 2 months than just throw them in the bin!
