Default disable 'full size' Gallery2

I've taken up on a suggestion to play about with Gallery2 (Cheers Ric_).

I like the program alot, but I see one thing that I would like to disable or remove. 'Full size'

I only want to allow the kids access to pics set to 800x600. I know I could reduce the resolution me self, But i want to leave the images alone.

any halp much appreciated

Kev

There's some settings in the permission side of things which allows you to do this..

I can't remember where exactly but you can associate them with specific users/groups easily enough.

Ok... possibly not the latest version of gallery2 but I had a look for you and found the following permission options:

[core] View item
[core] View resized version(s)
[core] View original version
[core] View all versions

Now if you want the kids to only view the resized version then you just give their user group or "Everybody" the "[core] resized version(s)" permission and nothing else.

Add to that you also have some options under the "Edit Album" > "Album" (tab)

Set the "Resized Images" option to the appropriate dimensions you need.

Then you also have the options to remove originals, etc... through.

Maximum dimensions of full sized images
Maximum file size of full sized images in kilobytes
Keep original image?

That lot should sort you out as required and there may be new/other options I haven't enabled by upgrading...

Hope that helps.
