Got a spare acer HD from a laptop that I want to use as a bit of mobile storage, however found that the disk is partintioned into three, one small recovery partition and two normal partitions splitting the rest of the disk. Its now installed in a USB case but tried through XP and Gparted to delete the partitions but it just refuses with no specific error! Any ideas how to just change it to one large partition?

16th July 2008, 11:40 AM #2 Make a bootable floppy/usb stick/cd-rom with a copy of delpart (or other tool) from Bootdisk.Com DOStools
Another option is one of the boot cd partition managers such as Ultimate Disk or GParted.
Edit: I think you edited your post or something. Did not realise you tried GParted. Could be a disk failure?

You make a system eraser disk from Window Washer. Download a trial copy from www.webroot.com
