Hey all, just got a 4G Eee. Managed to get rdesktop to work but had to reinstall package as got a segmentation error.
Thing is rdesktop I can only load through Terminal at the minute with 'rdekstop -f ***.***.***.***'
Anyone know how to make a shortcut somewhere for it so its just a case of clicking so I can be lazy again?

25th April 2008, 02:32 PM #4 I don't have a copy of the file or an eee handy - but if you open the file (backup first) you should be able to add your command line and arguments. Try overwriting one of the default links first and see if it works.
I think the simpleui.rc file is a fairly self-explanatory configuration file. I recall i had some trouble changing icons though

26th April 2008, 10:45 AM #5 From a terminal, open the simpleui.rc:
sudo kwrite /opt/xandros/share/AsusLauncher/simpleui.rc
At the end of the file, before the closing </simpleui> enter the following to create a shortcut to rdektop:
<parcel simplecat="Work" extraargs="/usr/bin/rdesktop -f -u '' terminalservername"
icon="iptv_norm.png"
selected_icon="iptv_hi.png" >
<name lang="en">Terminal Server</name>
</parcel>

26th April 2008, 01:27 PM #6 I got segmentation errors with rdesktop on a 2g eee bizarely only when connecting to a server 2003, it was fine when I connected to XP.
The only way I could resolve it was going over to eeeXubuntu (which then had other issues).
There is a front end for rdesktop (it does VNC aswell which is neat) but it doesn't fit on the eee's screen.

26th April 2008, 03:41 PM #7 I got around the segmentation fault by installing the OS supplied on the CD that comes with the eeepc. Apparently it can also be fixed by replacing the rdesktop package with a different version. EeeUser ASUS Eee PC EeePC Forum / rDesktop.... Help ??

28th April 2008, 04:02 PM #9 Right - got sorted. Basically unlocked the Eee into Full Desktop Mode and am running it through there. The segmentation errors I overcame by reinstalling the package using the info from forum.eeeuser.com
