Right, here it is guys.
I've attached the package file that I created - let me know if you can install this ok. It includes the example media I use (a video of some green screen product, 3 dummy pictures, and the school logo)
I've also attached a pic of how it looks so you know properly without needing to download and install (The green scene vid is supposed to be in top left but these dont show on snapshots - it will appear if you install package)

We adopted the Onelan solution during the Easter half term, and have since developed a few screens for use.
We have a general school day one that runs throughout the day, then one that kicks in at breakfast and lunchtime which is full screen showing The Hits free view channel. We also have an INSET day with agendas and BBC 24 but have plans for Open Evening, Presentation Evening, Parent Evening, Year 6 into 7 Evening etc

Sorry to go a bit OT........ Out of interest what size screens are you all using??

32" in student area
42" in reception (I think)
We're looking at getting either 40" or 42" for the hall.

That looks very nice!

Its quite simple really to understand the concept of the modules. I used Photoshop to create my template but something like Fireworks will do the same.
You need to first specify a size for screen res on the Onelan box for your plasmas. I cannot remember what we did but i think it was 1280 x 8xx i think. You then need to create a new document in your editing program and make sure its the same size as your screen res set.
Now you create the design how you want but make sure that you do not put too much on as this is for info and should not be cluttered.
Once the design is complete, you need to bring on the rulers and add soe guide lines. From the guide lines you will be able to work out the exact pixel from top and left for placement of the modules. You then just need to add the module and play text and background colours

Thanks a lot for that deano. I'll give it a try sometime.

I work for Onelan/Red Solutions. We can customise templates with your schools logo's, colours etc for £150.00. We will then e-mail for you to upload to the NTB through Layout Packages. These layouts have been designed specifically with education in mind.
Please contact me and I will send you screen snapshots.
I cannot sell this directly but I can point you to our partners to supply.
We also offer training courses.
My contact details are 07891 809 695

I got the ONELAN box of tricks working in our school - kinda. I made the layouts OK and then scheduled them. However, when I activate schedules and templates it starts from the very beginning of the schedule rather at whatever the current time is. Thus my schedule is out of sync by any number of hours. Any pointers ?

Strange, we don't suffer from this...
I'd guess there's perhaps an overlap?

Do you have the different templates scheduled in schedule? It will not allow an overlap of times. The activate schedule and layouts will revert the NTB to whichever layout is scheduled and the playlists within that layout.
