Anyone managed to convert the URLblacklist.com blocked file list into a plain text file possibly using a script?
Our webserver will only take plain text lists

Given the size of the blocklist, no. Free Text searching through such a list will cause performance to nosedive.
Why do you want to load it on a webserver anyhow?
sorry internet server (web/proxy/email is all one server)
What are you trying to do with the list?
Try Wordpad instead of Notepad. Notepad doesn't cope with files created on Linux very well.
Convert it into a plain format that can easily be uploaded to our proxy server's banned list. It doesnt accept upload zips or files that are within subfolders.Originally Posted by ChrisH
What proxy server are you using?
squid
jst trying to consolidate loads of text files into one - any one know a utility that can do this?
Why not add squidguard rather than trying to covert the list? or depending on what else you have on there Dansguardian.
adding to the system would void the support contract![]()
Ah typical. Well in that case I would put my own box infront of that and use that as a a parent cache but i suppose thats probably a bit too much work considering your original request.
Squid wont cope with 2million lines of ACL's anyhow.![]()
