    Another alternative. Buy a Mac Mini and EyeTV plug-in (about 450 altogether), and you will have a TV, EPG, pvr and DVd player/recorder in one handy box. Episode 50 of the ITidiots podcast will sell it to you if I haven't yet!

    On the back of this thread can any one suggest a good TV tuner card which will enable us to record 2 channels at once?

    That's not strictly true. You can get a Sky+ box with an SDI output which would enable you to bypass the DVD recorder altogether and capture programmes via a computer.

    I haven't read the whole thread here but I cap TV on a regular basis for myself and a private TV Torrent site and this is the tuner I use:
