Hi everyone,
Happy New Year and I hope you all had a great Christmas.
We are starting to move some of the printers into a central location due to some damage and abuse. I've got an HP LaserJet and an Epson C1100 so far. The HP has a separator page between each print running fine, and we can tell from that whos printed, time, date etc.
The Epson refuses to use it though. Can someone please supply / help me with creating one for the Epson C1100.
Many Thanks,
Simon Anderson

in a live chat session with someone from epson, apparently you have to :
you will need to open the Print Properties and then select the Advanced Tab. In here you will see the option for Separator Page.
Still chatting with him so will post back if I find out anything else

16th January 2008, 12:35 PM #3 Isn't using sperator pages a big waste of paper though?
shame you can't use some sort of pre printer driver that watermarks with the users name, something like:
User prints to laser01 which is a dummy queue.
Print job goes to pdf creator that adds username to print job.
pdf creator sends print job to real queue for laser01.

16th January 2008, 12:37 PM #4 Only got this info from him :
A separator page can be created by selecting Start>Control Panel>Printers. Right click on the printer icon and select Properties. In here select the Advanced Tab and then Separator Page.
Other then that not much help im afraid

16th January 2008, 01:32 PM #5 Hey Ben,
I'd rather waste one page that a ream from the kids pressing the test page button on the printer. I totally agree. They have already broken the Epson C1100 in the new ICT Suite. I had to pull the HP LJ 1320n out to stop the same happening in there. But we can now hit them hard if / when they print rubbish out.
Gecko, thanks for the chat thang. I'm using a separator page as shown in the code snippet. Its the same as the HP one. But nothing is coming out of the printer. Just the normal prints,
Any other ideas.
Plexer, any more info on your idea? Thanks.

16th January 2008, 02:00 PM #6 I went onto the epson site and found the manuals but couldn't find any documentation on how to use the seperator page with regards to the code you posted am assuming the code may be different due to it being a different printer.
Had another chat with them and they are in a word "f3cking useless". I got told that you would have to do it with the program you are using which imo is b/s because everyone uses different programs from mspaint all the way to word and other apps so didnt think much to that.
He then disconnected from the chat session so not sure on that one and don't have time to go and play with it.

16th January 2008, 02:24 PM #7 Thanks Gecko. I've been and downloaded the manuals last week. I've come here as a last resort as I know how busy we all are to see if anyone else had had a similar problem.
I'll keep looking.

16th January 2008, 03:11 PM #8 Just as a thought what happens if you try just for the username on the seperator page ie :
$N
that way you can at least see if the epson printer recognises similiar commands and prints off the username
