    Lync as a PBX

    Final thread on SIP/VOIP:

If you are running Lync as a PBX...

How did you get it set up (in house/contractors)
How many days work to set up was it?
How do you provide support (in house / external)
    How many VOIP users total?
How many people are 'soft phone' only?
What model of desk phones do you use?
How do the users find it?
    How do you find it?

    The school:

How did you get it set up - In house
How many days work to set up was it? - A couple of weeks
How do you provide support - In house
How many VOIP users total? - Potentially 120-ish although most mainly stuck to IM (meant that it was less discruptive in lessons)
How many people are 'soft phone' only? - 100ish
What model of desk phones do you use? - Polycom CX300 and Snom 300
How do the users find it? - Loved it (receptionists could send a quick message to a teacher via IM who could answer it without disrupting teaching)
How do you find it? - I'm in love with it... it is the dog's!

    Currently (global financial software house):

How did you get it set up - In house
How many days work to set up was it? - Deployed 2010 and upgraded to 2013... deployment still ongoing but we are rather big
How do you provide support - In house
How many VOIP users total? - Lots (multiple offices in multiple countries plus home users)
How many people are 'soft phone' only? - about 70%
What model of desk phones do you use? - Polycom CX300, Polycom CX 500, Polycom CX 600 and Snom Meeting Points, Polycon CX3000, Polycom CX5000 (NB: The Polycom CX500 and CX600 look nice but build quality is terrible)
How do the users find it? - Love it (especially now with 2013 - multi-party video and the web app thingy that allows external types to get involved)
How do you find it? - Loving it more and more daily!
