    Python GUI

I'm having a problem getting the python GUI to run as a student. It runs fine as an administrator.

I've tried a shortcut direct to "idle.py", I've tried a shortcut with "c:\Python25\pythonw.exe c:\Python25\Lib\idlelib\idle.py" but neither work. If i just load pythonw.exe it'll load the command shell fine but they need the GUI to work in.

Anyone got any suggestions on this one?

Assuming it's the same thing, I created a script to deploy Python Portable 2.7.2.1 and 3.2.5.1

You're more than welcome to a copy. Send me a PM/email.

    Cheers,
    Gerard

I found my issue, process monitor saves the day!

Running the idle.py GUI wanted to create a folder in C:\Users\%username% called .idlerc, this was coming up with access denied (thank you process monitor)

So I've created a GPP that creates this folder with an item level targetting option that looks for pythonw.exe, if that exists it creates the .idlerc folder for users automatically.
